Yellow Line: route and key facts
The Yellow Line of Mi Teleférico links Mirador with Libertador in about 17 minutes, with 4 stations over 3.9 km. It opened on 15 September 2014 and can carry up to 3,000 passengers per hour in each direction.
The Yellow Line links El Alto with the western hillside of La Paz: it starts at Mirador (the Ciudad Satélite district) and drops down through Buenos Aires and Sopocachi to Libertador, next to the Curva de Holguín. With 169 cabins it was for years the longest line of the network’s first phase.

The Yellow Line is one of the most spectacular rides on the network: in roughly 17 minutes it crosses the rim of the altiplano and descends into the bowl of La Paz, with the Illimani in view for practically the whole trip.

The Yellow Line has 4 stations: Mirador, Buenos Aires, Sopocachi, Libertador. It runs from Mirador to Libertador and takes about 17 minutes end to end.
End to end (Mirador – Libertador) the ride takes around 17 minutes. Because a cabin leaves every 12 seconds, there is virtually no waiting once you are through the gate.
The same as the rest of the network: Monday to Saturday, 06:00 – 23:00, and Sundays and public holidays, 07:00 – 21:00. Scheduled maintenance can close the line for a few days a year.
The standard fare is Bs 3 (about US$0.45). If this line is a transfer within your trip, you pay Bs 2 extra. The reduced fare is Bs 1.50 plus Bs 1 per transfer. You can pay at the ticket window or with the QR code of the Yala card.
You can change at Mirador, Libertador. The change happens inside the station, but each additional line costs Bs 2 more.
